You’ll find the best fur coats (faux, of course) to wrap up in, sugary sequins, underrated Christmas films to watch and more. Fur coats
I’ve been a faux fur lover since the dawn of time, most likely fuelled by Charlotte Simone’s 2014 bonbon bags and popsicle scarves. So, I love when the furry cover-up is having a moment. This season’s furs are shaggy, voluminous and take up space, literally. Think Kate Moss hanging out a window or Charli XCX popping out for a smoke mid-party – messy, cool girl, a bit noughties, a bit rock ‘n’ roll. I’m obsessed with these bold, cropped numbers from Jakke and will be styling a hoodie underneath my fur, a la Mango.

Cuvée, Glasgow
Keen to cement itself as Glasgow’s go-to location for boujie bubbles, Cuvée opened its second location in Princes Square last month. Taking over the centre courtyard, diners can treat themselves to the underrated combo of fried chicken and champagne (bonus points if you get yours in the custom Veuve Clicquot box), along with other delicious small plates. It’s the perfect spot to rest your feet after a day of Christmas shopping, and you can pop over to sister venue, The Delphine, for a pretty cocktail afterwards.

@zeopatra
It’s not often someone on social media stops me in my scrolling tracks anymore, but when I came across Zeopatra on TikTok, I was immediately obsessed. Her styling series “How not to be boring” sees her take inspo from random (and always absurdly cool) images, anything from retro cutlery to sugar-coated dice, and using them to create an outfit. If you’re sick of feeling like a Pinterest girl copy and paste, this formula will reboot the way you look at fashion.

Wet Paint, Chloë Ashby
I wasn’t going to include Wet Paint by Chloë Ashby, but it was the only book I read this month, so here we are. The story follows 26-year-old Eve as she chaotically navigates life following her mum's leaving and her best friend's death. The book covers a lot of heavy topics, and, as I usually enjoy “sad girl fiction”, I thought I’d be into this, but something was lacking. As much as Eve’s character is developed, I wasn’t convinced by any of the relationships she had, especially her love interest, which seems to come out of nowhere. If anyone else has read this, I’d be interested to know if you felt the same!

Sweet Sequins
Maybe it’s the Wicked effect, but sparkles in shades of lime green and candyfloss pink were seen on the runways at Gucci, Fendi and Ashish this autumn/winter. An unexpected palette for the season, but mixing a little sparkle with sugary shades just works. Throw on jeans and a sequin top from Ro&Zo or Albaray for fuss-free festive dressing. Want to keep it classic? Sequins in silver always look chic, and this dress from the M&S x 16Arlington collab is currently on sale. 👀

Sick of the same old Christmas movies? Here are a few under-the-radar hits to watch this December…
⭐ Dear Santa, Prime Video – kid accidentally writes a letter to Satan (Jack Black) instead of Santa, chaos ensues.
⭐ The Night Before, Netflix – three friends go on a drug-fuelled night out in New York on Christmas Eve. It’s a classic Seth Rogen film, but make it Xmas.
⭐ A Garfield Christmas Special, YouTube – Say no more, timeless!
⭐ A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, Disney+ – I’ve not actually watched this yet, but I have high hopes that it’ll be as bad as it looks.

Love the hoody under fur look 🤩
Love to see sequin season ✨💖
