Hi! Happy Easter/Aries Season/Astrological New Year! ✨ I find this time of year much easier to see as a fresh start than January 1st. I read somewhere that trying to reinvent yourself in January is so hard because the world is still hibernating and in a state of decline, so how can we expect to hit the ground running?! The beginning of spring seems like a much better time to start over, set new goals and feel some new season energy – HWFG.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66.
New year means new sneaks, and I’m in the market for a pair of Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66s. The yellow/black colourway was everywhere last summer, but the birch/peacoat pair is calling my name. If you’re sick of Sambas, these are a great slimline alternative that still ticks the retro box. Style them with below-the-knee skirts and sports socks for a streetwear vibe with a twist.

Feminist non-fiction.
March was Women’s History Month, so what better time to rage-read tales of the patriarchy? Burn It Down by Vanity Fair’s Maureen Ryan speaks on the abuse of power that’s rife in Hollywood and the exploitation that happens so frequently in the world of entertainment. A tough read, but a timely focus on an industry that needs to change.
Other feminist reads of note to read this month include We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, Feminism Interrupted by Lola Olufemi and Women Don’t Owe You Pretty by Florence Given.

Track jackets.
Track jackets have always had a place in my wardrobe but never as a piece that I would dress up or make a ‘look’ with. For spring, I’m taking inspo from Jess Cheng and wearing my oversized Nike running jacket with girly details like hoop earrings, shoulder bags and flowy skirts.

With Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint.
I’ve been waiting forever for the release of this jelly tint by Milk and it’s finally available in the UK! £22 is steep for a blush, so naturally, I waited until I had a Cult Beauty discount code. The stain is pigmented and buildable, leaving you with a fresh, flushed look – not to mention it looks like the beauty equivalent of a Push Pop. It currently comes in 4 shades - I went for Spritz - and is perfect for slicking on before a morning Zoom call to bring your face to life.

La Masa, Glasgow
Glasgow has always had a lack of good Mexican eateries, so the opening of La Masa Taco Bar on Renfield Street was a welcome addition to the city centre. The no-fuss menu consists of tacos and tostadas (recommend the beef birria, chicken and crispy fish), barbacoa meats and sides (shoutout to the street corn). The vibes are chilled and the margs are frozen. 👌

Can anyone pull off a plain white tee and baggy jeans in the same way Chloe Mihailovich can? Doubtful, very doubtful. She’s been my go-to for off-duty style for a while now – her Insta feed is what I imagine I’d look like if I was at least 4 times cooler, and I’ve also just found her Substack - tagged above.
