All Tied Up
Last year, we saw bows decorating pretty tie-front tops, gilets and waistcoats, and the runways still haven’t had enough. This season, choose between going girly, like Dior’s cute tie shirt and floppy bow mini, or adding some edge with a messily-knotted plunging pussybow like Saint Laurent. If you can’t find a spare £3K for Dior’s new Bow Bag, this sweet Charles & Keith Bucket Bag will do the job. Neckties and scarves are also big news and feel bow adjacent – knot a silky number around your neck to add a jaunty je ne sais quois to every outfit.

Eight Coffee Co. Brownie Batter Iced Latte
If you need something to sweeten the winter months, head to Eight Coffee on Victoria Road or their Barras coffee cart to try their seasonal menu. The brownie batter iced latte tastes like a freshly baked treat and is topped with cold foam and chocolate powder. If that (or their caramelised banana latte) doesn’t brighten up your February, what will?

The Secret History, Donna Tartt
A group of privileged misfit classics students practice an ancient ritual that sets off a chain of events that unravels and culminates in them killing their friend (not a spoiler btw!). This book is divisive, and it’s easy to see why! The characters are quite unlikeable, it’s an extremely slow burn and a tome at over 600 pages long. If you’re a fan of dark academia or loved Babel by R.F. Kuang, this is for you. If rambling prose about pretentious young people isn’t your bag, give it a miss.

Off-Kilter Colours
Forget outdated fashion rules like “red and green should never be seen”, this season, the more unlikely the colour combo, the better. Cherry red with shades of lilac and cornflower were seen at Versace, Carolina Herrera and Diotima, while Issey Miyake and Dries Van Noten favoured acid yellow paired with lime and cerulean. Mix cool and warm tones for results that feel like a fresh take on colour blocking – look at @maxinewylde’s outfits for colour theory inspo.

Loving the colour combos!! Also the brownie batter latte is calling my name 🤤 x
