Hi again! If you’re new here, the cult slice is a monthly roundup of things that are good right now. This month, I visited Copenhagen for the first time, so below you’ll find some Scandi recs to save for your next trip, along with what’s new in fashion, beauty and food. As always, I hope you enjoyyy 😊

Ganni x Ace & Tate
If you know me, you’ll know my sunglasses collection is one of my greatest achievements in life. So, it’s hard to resist when one of my favourite clothing brands teams up with a super-cool eyewear brand. This is the second drop of the Ganni x Ace & Tate collab and with 14 new frames (in 5 new styles) there’s something for every sunglass lover. The frosty blue Dakotas are calling my name and will look great poolside this summer.

Friheden, Copenhagen
I visited the Danish capital this month and it was everything I hoped for. The vibes were chilled, the public transport was efficient AF and the food was unreal. I’ve added a gallery of top spots below – more details at the bottom of this post!
It was hard to choose one standout place to feature, but Friheden just pipped the others to the post. The fact this place is centred around a skatepark sold it for me and I’m SO glad we didn’t miss out on it. You can order a 3-course set menu or choose from a selection of small plates. We did the latter and feasted on black pepper arancini, courgette salad, pork cheeks and more, and we agreed it was our favourite meal of the trip (it was a tough decision though!) The weather was a cool 5°C, but the fairy-lit beer garden at the front was filled with locals and skateboarders – setting the perfect ambience for a Friday night out.
taking fashion notes on…
Zendaya
I don’t think a celeb has ever served the red carpet harder than Zendaya has when promoting Challengers. Stylist Law Roach came out of retirement to dress the actress in custom Loewe (complete with tennis ball heels), a dupe of Carrie Bradshaw’s vintage Vivienne Westwood bustle skirt, and an unbelievable custom sequinned look by Thom Browne. Not only that, but Girly has gone and secured herself the May covers of both UK and US Vogue simultaneously. I gasped. I clapped. I booked a ticket to see Challengers.

With Rimmel Oh My Gloss Lip Oil
If you’re overlooking Rimmel products in the beauty aisle, I’d ask you to reconsider. Their new releases have been so good (not to mention affordable) and the new Oh My Gloss! Lip Oil is another winner. Less sticky than their Thrillseeker Glassy Gloss (which is also great, FYI) this new lip oil has a silky finish with just a hint of colour, making it perfect to slick over lip liners and lipsticks for a glossy boost. And who doesn’t love a glossy boost?!

@livthepositivefoodie
Since the end of February, I’ve been on a bit of a health kick and have been following a nutrition plan. When I started this journey I was slightly overwhelmed and worried I’d be trapped in a world of dry chicken and rice (gotta hit that protein goal), BUT I’m happy to say that’s not been the case because I found @livthepositivefoodie’s account on Insta. Liv posts amazing recipes on her Insta that are all macro-friendly and usually under 650 cals – think bang bang chicken, cajun spaghetti and beef fajita wedges. The best part is, she bases all recipes on products found at Aldi so they’re also purse-friendly. Liv recently announced her first book The Positive Kitchen will be out soon and is available to pre-order now.

More Copenhagen recs listed from the gallery above…
⭐ Bip Bip Bar - a cool 80s-themed bar with vintage arcade machines, pinball and really cute Mario Mystery Block lampshades.
⭐ Il Buco - a converted factory with lots of industrial details, serving sandwiches, pastries and coffees. Has a bring-your-laptop-and-sit-all-day atmosphere.
⭐ Slurp Ramen Joint - probably the best ramen I’ve ever had in my life, and also the priciest. This place is small and doesn’t allow bookings so expect to queue. (We did, for 1 hour. Worth it.)
⭐ Bottega Barlie - predominantly a wine bar, but we ended up here for breakfast. Had a canalé and coffee. Wanted 17 more.
⭐ Yellow - again, the vibes were vibing at Yellow. A cool cocktail bar with small plates and a resident DJ. Highly recommend the crispy fries and their negroni sour.
Can a girl ever have too many sunglasses?? 🕶️ asking for a friend 👀
