Hi! This newsletter is coming to you a day late because I went out for brunch on Saturday and got home 11 hours later 🤪 So, while I catch up on life admin and try to get back in the zone today, I’m also reminding myself that the odd wild day/night out is good for the soul. Namaste. 🙏

Sole Club, Glasgow
Last week, I visited Sole Club for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Part takeaway chippy, part speakeasy-style seafood restaurant (access through the fridge), the new-ish venue is a great addition to the Finnieston Strip. Much like Nico Simeone’s other ‘Six by Nico’ restaurants, Sole Club offers a five-course tasting menu (for an affordable £35 per head) with a theme that changes every month or so. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly scared when I heard this month’s theme was India, but honestly, five courses of Indian-themed fish dishes slapped – with subtle Southeast Asian flavours and 10/10 presentation. Standout plates included sea trout seekh kebab with smoked yoghurt and BBQ shrimp with green chilli and coconut cream. The new Galicia menu launches this week, and they also do a set menu lobster roast on a Sunday that is now on my must-try list.

Naked Sundays SPF50+ Primer
I’m a sucker for packaging and I won’t apologise for it. This explains why I was enticed by the lilac, turquoise and holographic outfit worn by Naked Sundays SPF50 Collagen Glow Priming Lotion. The product itself looks tinted but isn’t, feels thick but absorbs nicely and works well under makeup or on its own. Is it priming my skin and keeping my makeup in place for longer than usual? Who can say? But SPF is a non-negotiable and this one looks really cute.

HBO Girls Rewatch Podcast
I’ve been aware of this podcast for a while and recently decided it was time to take the plunge and work my way through it, as it dissects every episode of HBO’s Girls from season 1 to season 6. Not only is it hilarious hearing two 24-year-old Gen Z-ers talking about 2012 as if it were old-maiden-type times, but it’s a chance to revisit one of my all-time favourite TV shows in great detail. Each week, Amelia and Evan are joined by a guest as they talk through each episode’s plot and themes and ask the all-important question, ‘Girl, what Girl are you?’ Since you asked, I’m a Hannah with Jessa rising.

Body sprays
Maybe it’s because you need to take a mortgage out on most perfumes now, but body sprays are having a bit of a moment. If you were a teen of the noughties you may remember spritzing classics like The Body Shop White Musk, Boots Natural Collection or So…? (which is actually still available, who knew?) Body sprays of the moment include Diptyque’s Summer Body Spray (boujee), Sol De Janeiro’s cult Perfume Mists (mid-range) and Impulse Long Lasting Fragrance Mists (budget-friendly). Choose your favourite and get spritz-happy with your new summer scent.

Away That Day swimwear
Holidays are pending and the urge to add to my swimwear collection is strong. I’ve bought from sustainable swim brand Away That Day before and really love their styles. The price point is quite high, but it’s worth it to know their bikinis are made ethically, using recycled and regenerated fabrics made from marine waste (like plastics from the ocean and fishing nets), they also use recycled packaging and manufacture in no-waste factories based in the UK. Not only that, they run a ‘Recycle Your Swim’ initiative where you can send back your old swimwear in exchange for a discount code. Got to love a circular fashion moment. ♻
