Hello! How is it August tomorrow? And how have I been writing this newsletter for half a year? I’m hitting around 100 readers a month now, and, while that may not sound like loads, it’s really cool that people are reading this fun little side project. If you read every month, please hit subscribe to get it straight to your inbox! As always, below you’ll find some things I’ve been loving recently, with inspo on what to wear, watch, read and more…

Food prints
If you don’t live under a rock, you’ll have noticed that clothes are looking very…edible right now. That’s right, food prints have been big news for summer and there’s still time to make the most of this delicious trend. From olive print tees to chilli print dresses, you wear what you eat this season. For me, the beaded Staud sardine bag is on my wishlist (alongside the Loewe heirloom tomato clutch of my dreams).

Glossier Ultralip
I was in the market for a new red lipstick, so I had a look at the Millennial Mecca that is Glossier.com. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t bought anything from the brand in years, but I wanted to try their Ultralip lipstick as they call it ‘the cashmere sweatpants of lipstick’. The formula is sheer, moisturising and never dries out. I went for the shade ‘Coupe’ which is an orange-based red. It’s the kind of lipstick you can wear without feeling too ‘done up’ - slick it on throughout the day for an easy dash of colour.
obsessing over…
Daisy Edgar-Jones
I watched Normal People (obviously) and loved the Daisy EJ/Paul Mescal combo as much as the next person. But it feels like ONLY NOW has Daisy stepped into her true star power and has been turning out some lewks on her press tour for Twisters. Stylist Dani Michelle has styled the actress in everything from Schiaparelli to Gucci – my favourites have been the boho Chloé dresses; something about those ruffles with that fringe just makes sense.

It Ends With Us
I avoided this book for as long as possible, in fact, I judged people who read it. I don’t really know why because I knew NOTHING about the plot, but assumed (wrongly) that it was the new 50 Shades and…a bit rubbish. Then I saw the trailer for the film (starring Blake Lively, out 9th August) and I was intrigued. So, I read the book. And I ENJOYED the book. It was wholesome and sad at the same time and an easy summer read to get lost in, ya know? Anyway, I learned the lesson: never judge a book by its bandwagon.

Granny glasses
I recently watched Billie Eilish on Chicken Shop and Hot Ones back to back and, in both, she was wearing a pair of small, wire-rimmed glasses. On further investigation, she’s also recently been wearing rimless specs, which we all know are the pinnacle of geriatric eyewear. So I got to thinking – are granny glasses in? I think they might be. I’ll be getting mine on Vinted and wearing them with plain lenses and a messy updo to test the waters. 🤓
